What an 89 year old man taught me about faith

While making a visit to the Benedictine Health Center in Duluth, MN this week, I crossed paths with a man named John.

John is 89 years old, will be 90 in December, although I don’t know that he’s looking forward to starting his ninth decade on Earth. Don’t think that he’s a sour grape though, he is very grateful to the Lord and says “Thanks be to God” often in regular conversation.

John’s passion for the Lord was evident all throughout our conversation. One single question from me would spurn a 30-40 minute response.

Listening to a man share about his faith like that was inspiring. He had many convictions, experiences, and still spoke of wanting to learn more about God.

Learning more. Growing in faith. At 89 years old, that is what I hope to be.
