Celebrating the Runner in our Family

Our family is coming off a weekend where we supported Liz as she ran her fourth half-marathon of the season.  Yea, she’s loco!  As I reflect on her 52.4 miles of competitive running, three things come to mind:

No fear!  Whether you think you can or cannot do it, you’re probably right.  To succeed, you’ve gotta eliminate the fear and give it your all and that’s what she did.

Attitude matters!  Sometimes it’s easy to go on a long run and other times it is absolutely not.  To overcome it, strap a smile on and find some encouragement.  Liz found a way to get her workouts in even when she didn’t want to.

Life change!  Making a commitment to competitively run 13.1 miles will change your life.  It’s also a game-changer for the family as we arranged the schedule to cheer her on the whole way.  Even the kids now talk about running and getting exercise :)

That’s a great job of running!  Thanks, Liz, for being an inspiration for our family.

Question: What are you celebrating in your family?
